Plagiarism Policy

International Journal of Social Sciences and Management Research (IJSSMR) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in academic publishing. To maintain the integrity and originality of research, the journal adheres to a strict Plagiarism Policy in line with international standards.

  1. Definition of Plagiarism:
Plagiarism is defined as the act of using someone else’s work, ideas, or words without proper acknowledgment, presenting them as one’s own. This includes, but is not limited to:

    • Copying and pasting text, data, or figures without citation

    • Paraphrasing or summarizing another author’s work without attribution

    • Using unpublished or confidential material without permission

    • Self-plagiarism, or reusing one’s own previously published work without citation or proper context

  2. Pre-Submission Checks:
Authors are encouraged to conduct thorough checks for plagiarism before submitting their manuscripts. The journal advises using plagiarism detection tools such as Turnitin, iThenticate, or similar services to ensure that no content in the manuscript is copied from other sources.

  3. Plagiarism Detection:
All manuscripts submitted to IJSSMR are screened for plagiarism using advanced plagiarism detection software. The screening process checks for:

    • Text similarity with published works

    • Unauthorized use of quotes, citations, or references

    • Duplicate submissions of the same content

  4. Consequences of Plagiarism:
If plagiarism is detected at any stage of the publication process, the following actions will be taken:

    • Before Peer Review: The manuscript will be returned to the author with an explanation, and it will not be considered for review.

    • After Peer Review or Acceptance: The manuscript will be immediately retracted, and the author will be informed. The author’s name may also be banned from future submissions for a defined period, depending on the severity of the violation.

    • Publication Retraction: If plagiarism is detected after the manuscript has been published, it will be retracted from the journal’s archive, and an official retraction notice will be published.

  5. Handling Self-Plagiarism:
Authors are advised to avoid self-plagiarism, which occurs when authors reuse their own previously published material without proper citation. Manuscripts that replicate substantial portions of previously published work, without appropriate attribution or permission, will be rejected.

  6. Ethical Standards and Integrity:
The journal expects authors to maintain high standards of academic integrity. Manuscripts must be original and should contribute new knowledge to the field of social sciences and management research. Any form of dishonesty, including falsifying data or findings, is subject to immediate rejection and reporting to relevant academic bodies.

  7. Collaborative Research and Acknowledgment:
Co-authors must ensure that all contributions to the manuscript are properly acknowledged. All sources, including previous works, data sets, and research materials, must be appropriately cited.

  8. Appeals Process:
If an author believes the plagiarism accusation is unjustified, they may submit a formal appeal to the editorial board. The appeal will be reviewed, and a final decision will be made based on the findings. If the appeal is successful, the manuscript will be reinstated for consideration.

  9. Commitment to Ethical Publishing:
IJSSMR adheres to the principles outlined by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines and aims to ensure that all published content is of the highest ethical standard. The journal is committed to protecting the intellectual property rights of authors, researchers, and institutions.
